This was a different experience for me because I’m not as familiar with wine as I am with beer. I like wine but it is a thing I only do with specific foods or at dinner. ;I know even less about wine than I do about beer. I sat down with Tiana Watkins and she was super nice and patient with me and my lack of knowledge about wines. I learned a few things about wine, and I hope you learn a thing or two by watching the interview.
Water’s Edge Winery & Bistro offers an array of services focused on wine and wine making.

Wine Club. The wine club has several levels that can fit almost any budget. I like the idea of starting with the Etown single wine club and getting a feel for their wines before moving up. I could see myself settling in at the Blending Bluegrass level. They offer shipping but only to specific states. Learn more about the wine club by visiting their website at: https://wineryetown.com/wine-club/
Custom Labels. The custom labels are a great idea as a unique present for the wine lover in the family. I could see it working as the perfect wedding or anniversary present also. It is a chance to be creative and add a personal touch to a gift for a family member or friend. Learn more about the custom labels here: https://wineryetown.com/custom-labels/
Events. They offer events ranging from BYOG (bring your own game) nights to happy hours and ladies nights including entertainers such as comedians and musicians. They have a space for booking events and allow the public to book their own event such as a trivia night or whatever tickles your fancy. Check out upcoming events or book your own at: https://wineryetown.com/events/
Tiana tells me that they offer European style wines which seems like a rare thing to me especially since they are the only winery and bistro in Elizabethtown, KY. European styles of wines offer more complex flavors besides just levels of sweetness.
They have a menu with brunch style sandwiches and charcuterie trays as well as Cuban sandwiches and other selections. I visited a couple days before the interview and tried the Cuban sandwich. It was outstanding with a white wine. I’m not knowledgeable enough to try pairing food with wines but their staff was friendly and were able to help match the wines and foods. That was definitely part of the fun. Experimenting with a bite of this with a sip of wine there adds to the experience and the fun.
On an interesting side note, the building they are in was a school for decades and there have been reports of ghosts popping up when the staff is closing. Old spirits mixing with new spirits adds to the charm.
I can’t call it a beer adventure, but it was a fine wine adventure. Tiana was a grand host, and I appreciated her time and her patience while I learned something about wines. Water’s Edge Winery & Bistro is a unique and charming destination worth a visit if you are traveling through and certainly a place to frequent if you live nearby. Thank you, Tiana. I will be back.
